It is pleasurable to
walk in trackless forests
dimmed until the loss of senses.
There is magic in losing oneself
in the knowledge of who
you are not.
When unearthing your image
navigating along particular paths
fancy the yearned,
know who
you are. |

BEHIND
THE FANTASY
Much like the computer world
where all
digital calculations are
combinations of ones and
zeros, in Idith Levy's
painting, "Behind the
Fantasy", all human
calculations boil down to
the childhood game of X's
and O's. Peel away
the veneer of our desires,
and a simple scheme
rooted in early psychology
is revealed.
The
vague, human forms painted
in the background come
forward with the face of
fantasy in such manner.
Idith Levy goes further to
suggest that behind such
contrivance lies a void of
blackness, un-actualized
until we paint
over our deep-laid
projections.
Her work is both an exercise
and explanation in the
workings of fantasy.
